Inspiration for Today - 30 Apr 12

Simple truth... when you are weak, God is strong!  When you are down, God will lift you up on wings like eagles!  When you are out of spirit, God the Holy Spirit is in!

God is that awesome!

Inspiration for Today - 28 Apr 12

Do you ever feel thankful for what you have?

I posted a similar post before but how often do you thank God for what you have?

How often do you thank Him for the food you have, even if it may be dull?

How often do you thank Him for the vehicle you have, even if it's beat up or not new?

How often do you thank Him for the home you have, even if it is not the ideal or dream home?

How often do you thank Him for the friends and family you have, even if you want to be famous?

How often do you thank Him for the clothes you have, even if they aren't the style of the year?

How often do you thank Him for the child you have, even if they cry and take up all of your time?

How often do you thank Him?  Is it time you thanked Him?

Inspiration for Today - 27 Apr 12

In the past couple of days, I have had the opportunity to be reminded that I may be living in this world, but as a Christian, I am not of this world.

I speak about wrongful acts I have witnessed (i.e. airlines trying to steal money, Christian organizations trying to do the same, arrogant people, etc), the way people handle themselves on the highways (i.e. lights not on at night, lights burned out, erratically driving, cell distraction, etc), and nearly anything in between has had me so stirred up that I want to fight.  I mean, get out and truly fight and fight everyone because of the disgust that I have seen.

However, like I said in an earlier post, there are battles that we need to place before God and God graciously takes them and reminds True Believers that we are merely living in this corrupt world for a moment.  We are not of the world any longer as Christians.  In fact, we are heavenly bodies fulfilling the Commission and loving, even our enemies, until God calls us to our eternal, permanent home.

Inspiration for Today - 26 Apr 12

What a wonderful change In my life has been wrought Since Jesus came into my heart! I have light in my soul For which long I had sought, Since Jesus came into my heart!

Since Jesus came into my heart, Since Jesus came into my heart,
Flood of joy o’er my soul Like the sea billows roll,
Since Jesus came into my heart.

I’m possessed of a hope that Is stead-fast and sure, Since Jesus came into my heart! And no dark clouds of doubt Now my pathway obscure, Since Jesus came into my heart!

Since Jesus came into my heart, Since Jesus came into my heart,
Flood of joy o’er my soul Like the sea billows roll,
Since Jesus came into my heart.

There’s a light in the valley Of death now for me, Since Jesus came into my heart! And the gates of the city Beyond I can see, Since Jesus came into my heart!

Since Jesus came into my heart, Since Jesus came into my heart,
Flood of joy o’er my soul Like the sea billows roll,
Since Jesus came into my heart.

I shall go there to dwell In that city, I know, Since Jesus came into my heart! And I’m happy, so happy, As onward I go, Since Jesus came into my heart!

Since Jesus came into my heart,Since Jesus came into my heart,
Flood of joy o’er my soul Like the sea billows roll,
Since Jesus came into my heart.

Inspiration for Today - 25 Apr 12

How do you choose your battles? Are you one that must have your own way or win? Are you one that rarely fights or simply conforms? Or do you pick and choose which one sticks out and which one is not worth it? Recently, I have had to choose to pull back from a battle myself. Though I cannot get into specifics at this time, I found myself battling what seemed to be a loosing battle. Today, I finally prayed that God would take on this battle for me while I choose to sit it out. Many times I have had to do this. There were battles that I had won, battles I had lost, battles I chose to not to even fight. However, it reminds me that God can battle a lot for us. All we need to do is give it to God. Worry, personality, temper, whatever steps in the way of yielding or preparing for battle we need to give all our concerns first to God. Many times, He'll actually handle the battle for us. Yes, there will be battles that we will need to face and endure to prepare and equip us as soldiers of God, however, some battles God can take on.

Inspiration for Today - 24 Apr 12

What does your schedule look like? Is it planned or unplanned? Are you free willing or fixed by the minute hand? Many years ago, I was a scheduled individual. After work, my days all had their routine. I remember Mondays were typically lawn care days, Tuesdays were big meal days (making a larger dish to eat from for the week), Wednesdays were Bible Study, Thursday was Smallville night, Friday was house cleaning, Saturday was either a free day or vehicle maintenance day (depending on the situation), and Sundays were church days. With few exceptions, this was my day to day life for close to ten years. As time went on, I began to think to myself "why am I so fixed?" Eventually, I freed myself from this schedule, however it came with a price. Without any schedule, I have been living a chaotic lifestyle, so to speak. No day is the same, yet I know I need to focus on schoolwork, household chores, Bible study, and so forth. About a year or so ago, I made a schedule for one, important thing; the Bible. Whenever I drive to and from work, I listen to the Bible on CD. While at work, when time is available, I read my pocket Bible. Even in my disorganized schedule, I schedule in the Bible so I can get closer to God. Does your schedule include time with God? If not, make it your number one priority.

Inspiration for Today - 20 Apr 12

It has been 9 days since our son was born and I cannot believe that it has been that long already. In that time, his new parents have gone through our typical ups and downs. We have been worried about jaundice, bowel movements, his fragile neck, if he's eating enough, even germs. Yet, we know and realize that this is probably what most parents go through.

It makes me wonder how God thinks about us. How He loves us enough to know our every need, every want, to the detail that He knows the number of hairs on our heads. If I am concerned about my son in this earthen vessel, can one even fathom how immense God's love is for everyone on this earth? Think about the billions of people, all races, all countries, all genders, and so on, whether a Believer or not, God loves each and every single one of us.

How awesome is that? Awesome doesn't even come close to the correct and appropriately descriptive term to describing how great it is.

All I can say is Thank You God for this indescribable love!

How Great Thou Art

O Lord my God!
When I in awesome wonder
Consider all
The worlds thy hands have made,
I see the stars,
I hear the rolling thunder,
Thy pow’r thro’out
The universe displayed,
The sings my soul,
My Savior God to thee;
How great thou art,
How great thou art!
Then sings my soul,
My Savior God to thee;
How great thou art,
How great thou art!

When thro’ the woods
And forest glades I wander,
And hear the birds
Sing sweetly in the trees;
When I look down
From lofty mountain grandeur,
And hear the brook
And feel the gentle breeze;
The sings my soul,
My Savior God to thee;
How great thou art,
How great thou art!
Then sings my soul,
My Savior God to thee;
How great thou art,
How great thou art!

And when I think
That God, his Son not sparing,
Sent Him to die,
I scarce can take it in;
That on the cross,
My burden gladly bearing,
He bled and died
To take away my sin;
The sings my soul,
My Savior God to thee;
How great thou art,
How great thou art!
Then sings my soul,
My Savior God to thee;
How great thou art,
How great thou art!

When Christ shall come
With shout of acclamation,
And take me home,
What joy shall fill my heart!
Then I shall bow in humble adoration,
And there proclaim,
My God, how great thou art!
The sings my soul,
My Savior God to thee;
How great thou art,
How great thou art!
Then sings my soul,
My Savior God to thee;
How great thou art,
How great thou art!

Are you a member of the team or is it just you? Today as I was getting my hair cut, the elderly barber missed a spot on my scalp. Instead of yelling or degrading him, the barber next to him simply pointed out what he missed.

Does this remind you of a team you are a part of in your life? Your spouse, class, fire team, squad, church, what team/s are you a part of and are you a true team player or are you simply a member?

Great hymn: All Creatures of our God and King

All creatures of our God and King,
Lift up your voice and with us sing
Alleluia! Alleluia! Thou burning sun with golden beam,
Thou silver moon with softer gleam!
O praise Him, O praise Him!
Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!

Thou rushing wind that art so strong,
Ye clouds that sail in heav’n along,
O praise Him! Alleluia! Thou rising morn, in praise rejoice,
Ye lights of evening, find a voice!
O praise Him, O praise Him!
Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!

And all ye men of tender heart,
Forgiving others, take your part,
O sing ye! Alleluia! Ye who long pain and sorrow bear,
Praise God and on Him cast your care!
O praise Him, O praise Him!
Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!

Let all things their Creator bless,
And worship Him in humbleness,
O praise Him! Alleluia! Praise, praise the Father, praise the Son,
And praise the Spirit, Three in One!
O praise Him, O praise Him!
Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!

Inspiration for Today - 16 Apr 12

Being a new father is quite a challenge, which many would agree. One of the most compelling things for me is the amount of emotions that have unlocked. I don't think I've cried or had teary eyes as much as I have within the past few days. I've also found myself humming to our little boy. The songs I hum are hymns with my favorite being Blessed Assurance.

This is such a wondrous new adventure for me. I have learned a lot about caring for my wife, caring for an infant, and discovering just how dependent he is on us. It reminds me just how dependent we are on God. Whether we are the mature, theologian who knows each word of the Bible and its meaning or the infant Christian who was just saved, we are infantly dependent on God every second of every day that He grants us.

Inspiration for Today - 12 Apr 12

God blessed my wife and I with a beautiful baby boy last night. Many new parents experience a rush of emotions and thoughts as they enter this new chapter in their life. For me, my greatest concerns are that as his parents, we are able to provide for his needs and that we will be able to lead this young man to Jesus so that we can all be in heaven together.

I realize that many Christians would reverse those two concern points but here I want to share with you my human and Spiritual desires honestly. In all things, to God be the eternal glory for it is only through Him and His mercies great things have been done.

Thank You once again, Father God for our beautiful son. It is through Jesus I pray this. Amen!

Inspiration for Today - 11 Apr 12

Rock of Ages, cleft for me,
Let me hide myself in Thee;
Let the water and the blood,
From Thy wounded side which flowed,
Be of sin the double cure;
Save from wrath and make me pure.

Not the labor of my hands
Can fulfill Thy law’s demands;
Could my zeal no respite know,
Could my tears forever flow,
All for sin could not atone;
Thou must save, and Thou alone.

Nothing in my hand I bring,
Simply to the cross I cling;
Naked, come to Thee for dress;
Helpless look to Thee for grace;
Foul, I to the fountain fly;
Wash me, Savior, or I die.

While I draw this fleeting breath,
When mine eyes shall close in death,
[originally When my eye-strings break in death]
When I soar to worlds unknown,
See Thee on Thy judgment throne,
Rock of Ages, cleft for me,
Let me hide myself in Thee.

Inspiration for Today - 10 Apr 12

Patience. Does anyone have any? Some do. Others, like myself, not so much, though God continues to teach me how to be patient.

I am reminded of this because my wife and I have been expecting our first baby. He was due on 4 Apr, but that day has passed by. We were scheduled to go into the hospital to induce my wife tonight, 10 Apr, yet the hospital said that they have no bed space. We are to call back tomorrow for see if there is a bed available.

My wife and I have been anxious to see our first born, like any other first time parents or maybe even reoccurring parents. Yet, this is a reminder that we need to not "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God." Philippians 4:6 (NKJV)

God certainly knows our request, yet God is showing us His perfect timing and not ours or the doctors. He diligently teaches us patience and many other things if we only "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened." Matthew 7:7-8 (NKJV)

Do you need patience? Do you need strength? Do you need courage? What is it that you need help with? Make your request be known; ask, seek, and knock in Jesus' name and God will answer your prayer.

Inspiration for Today - 9 Apr 12

Everyday we pray for things; for some of us we pray for health needs, sins, family, and so on. Today, a noble police man and dear friend led an awesome prayer service for the peacekeepers. The service lasted only 30 minutes and a few Scripture passages were read, but this Inspiration for Today has a two-fold request for you.

First, pray earnestly for our peacekeepers. Pray for the Christians who serve that they may be a beacon for those in need of a Savior. Pray for their safety as they enter into trying and often hazardous situations. Pray for their families as they need all the support with this kind of job.

Second, pray for more of these services and Christian support that it will strengthen our peacekeepers, their departments, and beyond.

Lord God, I openly pray in this forum that you guide our peacekeepers. Whether police, fire, EMT, doctor, nurse, soldier/sailor/marine/airmen/coast guard, or politician, please keep them safe. Lift them up with your courage. Arm them with the Belt of Truth, the Sword of the Word, the Shield of Faith, and the Breastplate of Righteousness so they may firmly plant their feet in the day of evil. Be with their families and encourage them and echo that Light through them. I pray for all of this in the effort that the Gospel will be reached, seeking first Your Kingdom, furthering it, defeating our common enemy, Satan. I ask this all in the name of Jesus, Your Son, our Savior...Amen!

Inspiration for Today - 8 Apr 2012

Today is Easter. I was a week early with my post but the post is still very valid. I suggest you take the time to read it. What's Easter about? Inspiration for Today posted @ http://servantwb.blogspot.com

Additionally, I highly recommend in the sincerest of requests that you attend a church today and listen, intentionally and intently, to what the pastor and the songs say. This is 1 of 2 important days in the Christian life and this is probably the more important of the two.

Thank you Jesus for dying for not just me but this entire world.
